Little Films sponsorship

LITTLE FILMS!

LITTLE FILMS will be my fifth album and the second with the fabulous guys from Ice Cream on Mondays. Little Films is currently at the printers and should be in-hand in early September. We recorded everything with the wonderful Salim Nourallah at Pleasantry Lane Studio in Dallas and it sounds fantastic. You can check out the title track on MySpace:

I am writing, as in the past, to ask an enormous favor of you all, my lovable and loyal listeners. As you know, I am working my tail end off to try and make this music dream a concrete reality. We have had tons of friends donate their time and talents to help us with recording, art, publicity and everything else, but still this album is going to cost us almost $9,000. It is an expensive operation, usually paid for by the record label. We have footed some of the costs with money saved from Thin Thread, but not all of it. And this is where I come in to ask for help.

Everyone who participates as a sponsor, regardless of which level, will be given a super secret web address where you can go and download *now* all of the songs from the album, in case you are so impatient that you just can't wait to have it in hand. :)

Here are the levels of sponsorship:

Best Ensemble Cast - $15
A signed copy of Little Films rushed to your door months before the public release of the album...you'll get it before the radio stations do!

Superstar Supporting Actor - $35
Two signed copies of Little Films sent lickety-split to your doorstep, long before the public catches wind that it is off the presses...and you'll get the attire to go with it - a Little Films button and sticker to adorn your backpack, windshield, sports coat, cowboy boots - you name it.

Best Director - $50
Two signed copies of LF laser-beamed to your home or office, buttons and stickers included, as well as a VP/ICOM tee (new design!) on which you can proudly pin your button or stick that sticker....

Hollywood Big Wig - $100
Four (4!) signed copies of LF tele-transported to your location, anywhere on the globe (okay, now I am getting carried away). You'll also get the button, the sticker, two (2!) VP/ICOM tees, and best of all, you'll be listed a PRODUCER on the album. Not everyday you can put that on the ol' resume. You'll also get one of the limited-edition Blackout EPs if you order before they are all sold out.... ***NOTE***The album is already in production, so the listing of "producer" is already closed....you still get all the other goodies, and your name will be listed on our site as an exec producer.

Deal-Making, Martini-Shaking, Heart-Breaking Hot Shot - $500+
This one is the real gravy. You get everything that everyone else gets....the CDs, the accessories, the tees, the liner-note-acclaim...plus a private concert for you and your friends at your home. This offer applies to anyone in the USA or in Europe, and will have to be worked into Vanessa's tour schedule. The show would most likely be acoustic (due to band travel expenses) but if it can be worked out, then an acoustic duo or full-band show could be arranged. After all, you're the hot shot, and you're calling 'em!

Ready to order?
Simply do one of two things...
Send $$$ (or € or £) via Paypal to
acousticgirl01@hotmail.com, specifying your level of sponsorship and all relevant details, such as email contact and mailing address. You can also send a check or money order - email me at the above address and I will give you my address.

As always, thanks a million times over for all of your support. Indie musicians can't do it alone, and those of us that are smart know that darn good and well. I'm a smarty pants when it comes to this one. With love and gratitude,

Vanessa

calm the hell down

that is the name of the playlist i have created on iTunes.

i am trying to calm the hell down, to remind myself it is all going to come together. this has been a relatively peaceful week. i am on vacation from one of my jobs, but i have so many. still, i have been reading - i am on my 4th book this week - and monday should be a day at the beach (literally). but the fact that i find myself in a state of semi-rest is evidence of exactly how badly i needed to STOP. between working like a mad woman at my day job, waiting tables at night, booking this insane tour for the fall, and getting the art, etc finished in order to get Little Films to the printers in order to get it back by September... no wonder everyone holds my bony wrists and rattles them about threateningly, telling me that if i don't gain a kilo or two i am going to be in big big trouble.

i love google. i am reading a book called "three junes" by julia glass, and there was a quote i wanted to share with you guys, but i don't have it handy and couldn't remember it, so i went to google and typed in "three junes" "julia glass" "fate" "yarn" and ECCOLA...here it is. truly amazing.

Anyhow, one of the characters is saying how she doesn't really believe in whims of fate. She says, "When it comes to life, we spin our own yarn, and where we end up is really, in fact, where we always intended to be."

And the opening to the book:

"Assuming that our energies are sufficient, love is interminable." - Jim Harrison

How trustworthy is energy? I have found myself without it lately. Yet days on the couch with good books and the possibility that one day very soon this album will be in the mail is the only thing that keeps me thinking that love might last. I have thought that before and been wrong - but then again , where we end up is really where we always intended to be.

love and sweet dreams,

vanessa
