generosity and 12,000 miles

generosity is people buying you baby food because they know it's one of your weird snack habits.
generosity is when someone you don't know at all offers you their couch.
how about when random strangers buy all four of your CDs plus a few t-shirts.
or when random strangers offer to organize a show for you and then actually come through in a big way?

couches, meals, just plain being taken care of....these are the things for which i am very, very grateful. throughout this entire VERY LONG tour, we've found nothing but kindness, some from people we've come to expect it from (like old friends and family) and some from people that we met on stage or in the audience. i never ceased to be amazed at how much good there is in the world.

our 2 month tour is nearly done. we've driven nearly 12,000 miles and i bet we'll make it to 13,000 - which is about 3,000 less than i had estimated (a bit far off the mark but that's okay). we've had tremendous fun nearly everywhere but especially at:
the purple fiddle in west virginia
folks cafe in wilmington, nc
little kings in athens, ga
java monkey in decatur, ga

those are just the places that we've loved since our last update (you can see the last blog entry for more places that rocked). we single these out especially because these are 4 towns where we didn't know a soul and didn't know what to expect - but we were totally and pleasantly surprised. thanks to those 4 audiences.

i'm going to post some pictures shortly. please keep spreading around the word about who we are and what we do. we've got 4 BIG shows coming up....details on the tour page. http://www.vanessapeters.com/ontheroad.html.
Thanks for your support in kepeing us going!!!
lots of love
